And so the post-mortem continues as to why a man who thinks its fine to grab unknown women ‘ by the pussy’ got elected as President of the USA. A man who is clearly a thug and a bully. A man who is not fit to run a paper round let alone a country.
And what do we see now?
There’s a normalisation going on. First we are told to forgive those who got him there. Apparently they didn’t do it because they agreed with his prejudice – they did it for economic reasons. The people who voted for the PG are apparently the forgotten ones, those left behind by economic progress as they see their blue collar jobs disappearing. Those people need a voice – apparently – and we should listen to them.
Its exactly what was said after Brexit. People – like our older relatives – didn’t vote for Brexit because they were prejudiced – they were just concerned that our island was too crowded to cope with more migrants. They were worried……not prejudiced….
And that is complete rubbish that we must reject. If you vote prejudice it is the same as being prejudiced. Its not rocket science.
The PG promised to make the US great again. The politicians who supported Leave promised very much the same thing. Britain like it used to be – with the emphasis on Great.
Hitler promised very much the same thing to the people who voted for him. He promised to return Germany to its former glory whilst never hiding his prejudice.
If you vote for a bigot that is what you get and as soon as they grab power they will act on their prejudices. The skies have darkened. The PG is now President Elect. Instead of being slapped down for being the most vile candidate ever, he now has a mandate. And so many people are now living in fear.
There really is no excuse for voting prejudice.
